HOW TO POST A JOB Ad

The OAVT Job Board has an average of over 7,000 page views per month. If you’ve posted an ad with the OAVT before, here’s what’s new:

  • Job ads are fully customizable with the ability to add a variety of tags
  • Job ads can be managed from a personalized login which includes access to receipts, management of current job ads and the ability to duplicate past job ads
  • Access to additional job ad insights including alerts before an ad expires

Job Ad Packages

All job ads are live for 60 days. Both packages include access to all customizations. The Featured Job Ad package highlights your job ad to stand-out from other posts and are listed at the top of the page. Standard ads are listed after featured ads and in chronological order.  Once a job ad has been approved and posted live to the website, there are no refunds.

All job ads are subject to the Job Board Terms and ConditionsSubmitting a job ad implies that you have read and agreed to the Job Board Terms and Conditions.  Job ads are submitted online and are reviewed for approval by the OAVT during regular office hours, Mon- Fri between 9 am and 2 pm, and are generally posted within 24 hours. When posting a job online, you may select either credit card, e-transfer or cheque as a payment method. Credit card payment can also be made over the phone. If you wish to pay by credit card over the phone, please choose cheque for payment to finish submitting your ad and email verna@oavt.org to make arrangements. Please DO NOT send credit card information via email. If you do not see your posting within 48 hours during our regular office hours, please check your email (including junk mail) to see if we have contacted you about your posting.

Modifying active job ads will result in job posting being temporarily removed  from the website for review before being re-approved.   Reviewing the modified ad will follow the same process as when the job ad was first submitted.

References to ‘veterinary technician’, ‘vet tech’, ‘VT’ or ‘AHT’ are not permitted in the text of job ads or in other linked media such as videos. Text will be adjusted to reflect Registered Veterinary Technician, and other associated media with those references will not be published.

Job postings for other roles such as receptionists or animal care attendants may be submitted for review, provided the position’s responsibilities do not fall within the scope of duties for which RVTs have received formal post-secondary education. The job title and text of the ad should accurately reflect the duties of the advertised position.

If you have any questions, please see the How-To video in the side panel or our Job Board FAQs. If you still have questions, please contact verna@oavt.org.
