OAVT Releases Election Toolkit

Guelph, ONT–The Ontario Provincial Election takes place on June 2, 2022. Provincial elections offer an excellent opportunity to engage political decision-makers and shape the policy issues that the next government will care about.

While the campaign period is ongoing, we encourage our members to engage with their local candidates about the importance of the RVT profession and how RVTs can offer a solution to challenges Ontarians are facing with accessing veterinary care.

If you are interested in reaching out to local candidates to raise awareness of RVTs’ priorities, the OAVT has created a short toolkit, outlining how to find and contact local candidates, as well as key messages and other resources that you can use when engaging with candidates. Access the toolkit here.

The OAVT looks forward to continuing to advocate with the next government on behalf of the RVT profession for increased RVT scope of practice, following the June 2nd election.
