Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Holistic Veterinary Clinic

Location: Newmarket, ON

Job Type: Full-time/ Part-time

Schedule:

• 9 am – 5pm
• Monday – Thursday
• No weekends or evenings

We’re not your typical veterinary clinic. Our focus is to enhance our patients’ quality of life by incorporating nutrition-based therapies, natural remedies, alternative treatments, and a calming, low-stress environment to promote long-term health. Our team believes in providing an individualized approach to patient care, and we’re looking for an RVT who shares that mindset.

What You’ll Be Doing

At The Holistic Vet, we believe having a healthy staff allows us to serve our clients to the highest standard. We offer a very calm and low-stress environment with no exposure to X-rays, anesthetics or the emotional trauma of end-of-life care. You’ll be responsible for:

Patient Care & Treatments – Administering treatments such as IV-nutrient therapy, red light therapy, PEMF therapy, ozone therapy, and more (training provided if needed).
Client Communication – Educating pet owners on whole food nutrition and holistic care options and ensuring they feel supported and informed.
Technical Skills – Drawing blood for testing and treatment, IV catheter placement, assisting with exams, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Team Collaboration – Working closely with veterinarians and fellow staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Please note that we are strictly an outpatient, consultation-based facility and therefore do not offer surgical services. This job will not involve tasks associated with these procedures, such as surgical prep, monitoring, recovery,  etc.

What We’re Looking For

This role is a great fit for someone who:

• Is a Registered Veterinary Technician with at least 1 year of experience.
• Is open to learning about and applying holistic and alternative therapies.
• Has strong communication skills and enjoys educating clients.
• Is detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate medical records.
• Works well in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
• Has experience with Avimark software (preferred, but not required).
