McCleary Animal Hospital is a busy, non-corporate, single veterinarian practice located in south Mississauga. We are a well-established practice that has been serving the Clarkson community for over 40 years. We have a superb 5-star client base built by years of trust and care.
We are currently seeking an experienced full-time RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) to join their team.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as a supportive team member, working closely with the veterinarian and handling all technological aspects of anesthesiology, surgical monitoring, and both skeletal and dental radiography. EXPERIENCE WITH ANAESTHESIA IS A MUST.
The position offers full-time hours, which may include occasional weekend and holiday scheduling, but specifics of this are negotiable. The practice encourages and supports RVT continuing education and makes time and financial allowance for conferences and courses.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall health during anesthesia.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Provide client education on animal care, nutrition, and preventative health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Participate in inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
Skills
- Experience in surgical and dental anesthesia
- Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
