Accredit Your Event
ACCREDIT YOUR EVENT
Why accredit your event?
Our members know that events accredited by the OAVT provide high-quality, relevant content from leading experts. In addition, you get the chance to promote your event to an engaged audience of veterinary professionals.
What is included with event accreditation?
- Public listing on either the Event Calendar (for postings that have a scheduled date) or on the list of CE Opportunities (for ongoing postings).
- Easy-add CE listing in the OAVT member portal. These listings are quick and convenient for RVTs to record their attendance in their CE record.
Eligibility requirements
All events must be delivered by a veterinary professional, or a professional with relevant and appropriate training in a field related to veterinary science, with a target audience of veterinary professionals.
Live Events (either in-person or virtual)
You must be able to track and verify attendance at these events through your registration platform. At a minimum, attendees should have to sign in for in person events, and a log in/out for virtual events.
Recorded Events
To be accredited, recorded events must also be accompanied by a related quiz. Each 30 minutes of formal presentation time should have five quiz questions connected to it. Attendees must successfully complete the quiz, with a minimum pass of 70%, to collect the assigned CE credits.
All submissions are subject to OAVT review. Meeting the criteria above does not guarantee accreditation of your event. For further information, please review the OAVT Event Accreditation Guidelines.
Accreditation Packages
Event accreditation is based on the number of sessions included in your event.
If your event does not have a specific date, select the Ongoing Event package. Accredited Ongoing Events will be displayed on the CE Opportunities page.
If your event has more than 25 individual sessions, please contact Laurie Williams, CE Manager to discuss prior to submitting your event.
Proof of Attendance
All accredited events are required to provide acceptable proof of attendance. This will be in the form of a certificate or a letter from a supervisor or manager. The document must contain the following information:
- Company logo (or letterhead)
- Event name
- Event date, time and duration
- Speaker’s full name and credentials
- Attendee full name
