Beyond Blood Glucose: Compassionate Handling for Feline Patients

Beyond Blood Glucose: Compassionate Handling for Feline Patients

Presented by Dr. Nita Hynes.

Managing feline diabetes involves far more than monitoring blood glucose and administering insulin. The emotional and behavioural
experience of the diabetic cat can have a significant impact on treatment compliance, patient welfare, and the success of the veterinary client-patient relationship. This presentation explores how stress, handling techniques, and feline behaviour can influence the care of diabetic patients. Participants will learn practical strategies for recognizing feline stress, adapting handling, reducing fear during common
diabetic procedures, and cooperative care skills for long-term success.

This 60-minute webcast will be live on Oct 24, 2026, and on-demand streaming on CommuniVET.com afterwards. After viewing the video, participants will be prompted to complete a questionnaire to evaluate their understanding of the subject.
