Here We Grow Again! Blackstone Animal Hospital is excited to be looking for another full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our state of the art, well-equipped hospital in East Gwillimbury. Use your technical skills to their fullest! We are an independently owned Veterinary Hospital run by two progressive and experienced veterinarians. We are the only Fear Free Certified Practice in York Region and we are proud to have recently achieved our AAHA accreditation.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team member with great customer service skills who wants to be part of a fun, hard working team.  Our ideal candidate must be a RVT in good standing with the OAVT. They will be outgoing with a positive attitude, have excellent communication skills and a desire to build lasting relationships with clients, patients and the hospital team.

Job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to:

• Communicate in a compassionate and professional manner with clients and team members
• In house diagnostics such as cytology and Idexx in house labs
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Computer skills are an asset as well as the ability to maintain thorough medical notes
• Working together with our veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, anesthesia, ultrasonography and dentals including dental radiology
• Provide excellent nursing care
• Comfortable handling animals using fear free and low stress handling techniques and maintain individual Fear Free Certification
• Take initiative to get things done without supervision
• Help to maintain an appropriate level of inventory and medical supplies
• Other duties which are needed to maintain or improve the
