Toronto Animal Health Partners (TAHP) is a leading multi-specialty and emergency veterinary hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and outstanding support to our clients. Our ICU team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill and hospitalized patients.
We are currently seeking a skilled, motivated, and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team.
Current Open Position Overview
As an ICU Registered Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, supporting veterinarians in emergency and specialty services, and ensuring the highest standard of patient monitoring and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Place and maintain IV catheters and perform blood collection
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostics
- Provide high-level nursing care for critical and hospitalized patients
- Monitor patients during sedation procedures
- Accurately follow and document treatment plans using electronic medical records (Instinct & EzyVet)
- Collaborate effectively within a team
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
- Diagnostic imaging- CT & Radiography
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with the OAVT.
- Previous ICU, Emergency, or Specialty hospital experience preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong IV catheterization and venipuncture skills
- Excellent patient monitoring and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical records (Instinct & EzyVet experience is an asset)
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable
