The OAVT is happy to congratulate our Communications and Advocacy Manager, Victoria Evans on her soon-to-arrive baby! We are excited to meet her new arrival. For the next year, Victoria will be taking maternity leave to spend some important time with her expanding family.
We are pleased to welcome Jay Millington to the team to step in and take over Victoria’s role over the next year. Jay is a seasoned marketing/communications professional who has held positions in both government and professional associations.
“I have some big shoes to fill in Victoria’s absence,” Jay said. “I look forward to continuing to bring value to our members, and to help advance our advocacy efforts over the next year.”
Jay has a passion for animals, having worked as an ACA at a veterinary emergency clinic, and volunteered in various locations throughout Thailand, working with small animals and with wildlife rehabilitation.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jay,” said Myscha Stafford, the OAVT’s Membership Services & Communications Coordinator. “I think his skills and experience will make him a valuable addition in developing our communications to members.”
We anticipate that Jay’s video, photography and editing skills will help further the OAVT’s visual storytelling, helping members by increasing public awareness of the importance of RVTs to our communities.
“In his first week on the job, Jay has brought new ideas and energy to the OAVT,” said Elise Wickett, OAVT Executive Director & Registrar. “He will help provide guidance and support to RVTs as we continue forward with our advocacy efforts to modernize the Veterinarians Act.”
Jay also brings his chihuahua Rascal, who we have met via video.
