Health & Safety Awareness Training
Module Outline
In this training module you will complete topics including:
- the duties and rights of workers under OHSA;
- the duties of employers and supervisors under OHSA;
- common workplace hazards and occupational illnesses;
- the role of joint health and safety committees (JHSCs) and of health and safety representatives under OHSA;
- roles of the Ministry, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and Health and Safety Associations; and
- information and instruction requirements set out in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Regulation.
Module Assignments
Complete the following assignments.
Assignment 1. Understanding Health and Safety Awareness Requirements
Watch the Ministry of Labor E-learning Training Video “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps”. Complete the quiz questions as you go along. Save a copy of the certificate of completion at the end of the training.
To save a copy of your certificate of completion do the following when the certificate is presented on the screen:
Save as PDF
- Right click and choose “Print”
- Change the printer “Destination” to allow you to print to a PDF (e.g. CutePDF, Microsoft to PDF etc.)
- Click on “Print” and save the document to a folder of your choice
- The document will not print out on a printer but instead will allow you to save the document as a PDF to the folder you have selected.
- Upload your document to your member portal
OR
Save your certificate as a “Screen Shot/Screen Capture”
- Make the entire certificate viewable on your computer screen
- Use the “PRINT SCREEN” key (keyboard text may read: PrtSc, PrtScn, PrntScrn etc.) on your keyboard to capture the image and copy it to your clipboard.
- Paste the image into a document (Microsoft Word or Paint, Google Docs etc.)
- Save the document with the pasted image to a folder on your computer
- Upload your saved document to your member portal
Retraining Requirement
To maintain active membership with the RRP, and continue to receive rabies specimen collection requests, the RRP Training Module 3: Health & Safety Awareness Training is required to be renewed every 3 years.
