Letter-Writing Campaign
Letter-Writing Campaign
The OAVT is working hard to engage Ontario RVTs and Veterinary Technology students to help influence the future of veterinary medicine in Ontario. In 2021, our advocacy work has included a public awareness campaign, participating in the College of Veterinarians of Ontario’s podcast, helping OAVT members organize and conduct meetings with MPPs, and attending meetings with representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
Now we are adding another tool to our toolbelt.
Below are links to pre-written letters on behalf of OAVT members and Veterinary Technology students to advocate for the modernization of provincial legislation, giving official recognition to RVTs, and removing red tape to encourage increased utilization of RVTs.
The OAVT has scheduled an information session on Zoom for Thursday, December 2 at 7:00 pm to answer any questions about the letter-writing campaign, and to discuss how it fits into the OAVT’s advocacy goals. To attend the information session, please register here.
