Yonge Street Animal Hospital has been serving the Metropolitan Toronto area since 1937 as a full-service veterinary hospital. As a privately owned establishment, we take pride in our excellent reputation, which has been fostered by the collaborative efforts of our veterinarians and staff.

Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced medical technology, including ultrasound in-house, laser therapy, electro surgery, cryopen, and phovia lamp; Evet software for computer assistance, and a wealth of veterinary expertise, we are committed to continuing our success in the future. Our team comprises 4  full-time veterinarians and a dedicated administrative staff of 18-22, including registered veterinary technicians, veterinary assistant, and receptionists. Offering a comprehensive range of services, including internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, as well as nutritional and behavioral services.

Your Role:
Conduct patient assessments and physical examinations, including temperature, pulse, respiration (TPR), and thorough history-taking.
Maintain meticulous and accurate medical records.
Perform phlebotomy and catheter placement with precision.
Demonstrate proficiency in basic laboratory procedures.
Assist veterinarians during medical procedures and surgeries.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
Conduct and analyze laboratory tests and samples.
Possess knowledge of radiology safety protocols and proper technique.
Exhibit perioperative surgical nursing skills.
Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
Provide post-operative care and offer follow-up instructions to pet owners.
Perform dental cleanings and provide assistance during dental procedures.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition.

Your Qualifications:
Certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Prior experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician is highly valued.
Profound understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Proficiency in conducting laboratory tests and interpreting results.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals.
