The Role
As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will be an integral part of our medical team, utilizing your skills to provide comprehensive patient care. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
Administering and monitoring anesthesia, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs.
Collecting and processing laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology).
Providing compassionate nursing care, including IV catheter placement, medication administration, and fluid therapy.
Client communication, education, and patient discharge instructions.
Maintaining accurate medical records.
Managing and maintaining surgical and medical equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and in good standing with the OAVT.
Experience in a veterinary hospital setting is preferred, but highly motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in anesthetic monitoring, surgical preparation, radiography, and phlebotomy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong commitment to animal welfare and providing outstanding client service.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work some evenings and/or Saturdays, depending on the agreed-upon schedule.
We offer a compensation starting from $27/hour based on experience. Other perks depend on if the role is full-time or part-time that include benefits (FT), continuing education, uniforms, petcare and food discount.
