West Carleton Animal Hospital is a well-established, privately owned, small animal veterinary clinic located in Ottawa. Our clinic is dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to our patients and exceptional customer service to their owners. We are a multi-doctor practice with a strong focus on preventative medicine, client education and compassionate care.
We are currently looking for a reliable, conscientious, innovative and experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!

What you’ll do:
– Assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures
– Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
– Safely monitoring anesthesia and providing post-op care
– Perform dental COHATS and radiographs
– Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
– Provide client education including: preventative care, nutrition and medication administration
– Maintain accurate medical records
– Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the clinic
– Handle client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
– One Saturday shift per month, with compensatory time off during the workweek to balance the additional hours
As our ideal candidate, you have:
* Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program
* Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic setting
* Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities.
* Proficiency in computer systems and veterinary software. Comprehensive knowledge of AviMark is a strong plus!
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
* A genuine love for animals and a desire to contribute to their well-being.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
