Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is expanding our ER Team and looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician who wants to stretch their RVT skills and be a part of an amazing collaborative ER /ICU team!

TVEH is a state-of-the-art veterinary emergency and referral hospital that delivers expert care and treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our entire team of veterinary professionals is dedicated to providing leading-edge medical care for your pet. We strongly believe in utilizing RVTs to their full scope of practice. As a team, we encourage and nurture associates to build skills and deepen their hands-on and theoretical knowledge to benefit patient care.

Further developing of these skills within this role:  placement of various IV & urinary catheters, Nasogastric tubes, Nasal oxygen cannulas; care and maintenance of patients with NG & E-tubes; Closed suction drains, chest tubes, urinary catheters; Wound diffusion catheters; Set up & maintain various IV fluid plans and pain CRI’s along with multiple medication administration.

Responsibilities: Focus on providing patient care for in-hospital cases, including treating blocked cats, gastroenteritis, foreign bodies, fractures, lacerations, GDV, parvo, and various autoimmune diseases. Assist with anesthesia and stabilization for a range of surgical and wound care procedures alongside our dedicated team of specialists, and help manage patients in the post-operative phase. Schedule: Our ER RVTs work a rotation of 4 on, 5 off with two 12-hour day shifts followed by two, 12-hour night shifts. This includes weekends and holidays. TVEH offers competitive pay with an additional weekend/overnight shift premium.
