404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is a large emergency and referral hospital located in Newmarket, ON, and we are welcoming a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team on a casual basis. You will enjoy exposure to a diverse and stimulating caseload, and tap into the expertise of our veterinarians and boarded specialists. As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals.
You’ve worked hard for your credentialing and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be mobilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Emergency Triage
- Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery
- In-house laboratory work and advanced diagnostic imaging
- Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to problem solve; excellent communication skills
- Our Emergency RVTs are here 7 days a week, covering shifts from 7:30am through to 12am, with the support of DVMs and Technical Assistants.
- Casual team members are offered a uniform allowance and have access to all VCA CE opportunities.
- Any experience in emergency medicine would be a great asset, although we are willing to train the right candidate.
