Exciting Opportunity Working with Native Wildlife!

Toronto Wildlife Centre is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with over 300 native Ontario species in a fully accredited veterinary hospital with full-time wildlife veterinary staff. This role combines wildlife medicine and wildlife rehabilitation and will have you involved with all aspects of animal care.

 

What You’ll Do:

·         Assisting with animal triage and admissions

·         Diagnostic imaging and lab work

·         Veterinary nursing care

·         Assisting with surgical and medical procedures, including anesthetic monitoring

·         Hospital maintenance

·         Maintaining medical records

·         Coordinating patient daily care

·         Developing rehabilitation plans

 

Experience and Qualifications:

·         Registered veterinary technician (RVT)

·         Ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years clinical experience, although not required

·         Previous work with zoo, wildlife or exotics is an asset, although not required

·         Passion for wildlife medicine and conservation

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·         Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         Rabies vaccinated with a current titre

·         Available to work rotating weekends and holidays
