Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our veterinarians to provide high-quality, cat friendly care tailored specifically to cats. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a progressive, feline-focused environment where your passion for cat health will make a meaningful impact. Prior experience is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
– Prepare patients and equipment for medical and surgical procedures, including anesthesia administration and monitoring
– Perform and assist with dental COHAT procedures
– Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, tissue)
– Maintain accurate medical records and update patient histories
– Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
– Educate clients on feline care, nutrition, and post-treatment support
– Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and treatment areas
– Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia or procedures
– Support inventory management, including ordering and proper storage of supplies
– ICU care for critical patients
What We’re Looking For
– Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) designation
– Previous clinical experience preferred
– Strong understanding of feline behaviour and health
– Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
– Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a genuine love for cats and their caregivers
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and cat friendly handling
– Interest in pursuing a feline VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialty) designation
