River Glen veterinary clinic is a fast-growing new veterinary clinic in the heart of Oakville.

We are committed to the highest standards of patient care with new technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Triaging patients and taking their vitals, and acquiring patient history and other information from clients.
  • Experienced in acquiring cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.
    Perform in house laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis.
  • Handling and submitting specimens to IDEXX reference laboratory.
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures.
  • Inserting IV catheters, and monitoring anesthesia, and fluid therapy.
  • Surgical tool sterilization, packing and familiarity operating autoclaves sterilizers.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarian.
  • Preparing and refilling prescriptions and providing instructions for clients.
    Keeping accurate patient records on AVImark.
  • Explaining care instructions to clients and sharing educational materials including parasiticidal prevention and prescription diet education.
  • Discussing treatment plans and estimates, and payment options with clients.
  • Acquire diagnostic digital X-rays with accurate positioning.
  • Perform Dental cleaning and polishing
  • Maintain sanitization and organization of veterinary clinic
  • Taking phone calls and making appointments on AVImark and our clinic online scheduling calendar.
  • Process insurance claims.
  • Follow up on specialists referrals.

Qualifications:

  • RVT with at least 2 years experience as registered veterinary Technician, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Passed the VTNE exam.
  • Member of good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians

Shifts:

  • Monday-Thursday 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Saturday and/or Sunday (your choice) 12:00pm-4:00pm (Shift could extend to 6 Pm)
