Peterborough Pet Hospital is currently recruiting for a part-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team:
The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) role encompasses a range of responsibilities which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. As a Registered Veterinary Technician you will work as a member of our team with other Veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technologists, and Administrative Staff. We are seeking a motivated RVT to assist in surgical procedures, medical care, anesthesia, dentistry, digital radiographs, laboratory testing, client education and appointments. Peterborough Pet Hospital is independently owned and operated and is equipped with digital radiographs, inhouse laboratory services; and, offers endoscopic, general and advanced orthopedic surgical services.
Passion for animal healthcare.
Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for clients and their pets.
Perform surgical preparation and assistance.
Provide anesthetic delivery and monitoring.
Provide routine and intensive animal care.
Provide optimal animal husbandry, restraint and handling
Perform diagnostic laboratory tests and digital radiographs.
Perform pharmacy dispensary duties.
Provide client education related to animal care.
Maintain sanitation, sterilization and disinfection controls and procedures.
Perform routine veterinary business and client service skills.
Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments.
Perform receiving and restocking of products and goods in accordance with hospital policy.
Experience with AVIMARK and IDEXX is an asset.
Exceptional client service skills including written and verbal communication skills.
Detailed oriented and organized.
Proficient computer skills
Experience with AVIMARK & IDEXX is an asset.
Ability to work independently and with others as a team.
Receptive to receiving direction, ability to multi-task and work efficiently.
Compassion and nurturing attitude.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Current registration in good standing through OAVT is preferred.
