Pawsitively Pets is a hands-on animal education program.

This is a Part-Time Permanent Position – we are looking for year-round staff that can work part-time September to May, with the option of full-time hours May to September if that works with your schedule. This position will offer up to 24 hours per week. This is a great position for a student or candidate who is looking for more experience with exotics.

As a team member, you will:

  • Deliver interactive animal presentations in classrooms, camps, after-school programs, parties, and events.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Inspire and educate children about animals through hands-on learning experiences.
  • Assist in various aspects of our programs, including pet therapy visits and school presentations.
  • Receive full training in animal care and handling.
  • Present to groups of children with confidence, enthusiasm, and creativity.
  • Must have a valid Class G driver’s license and a reliable car for work-related travel (car allowance provided).

What We’re Looking For:

If you’re applying for this role, you should have:

  • A strong love for animals and children.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • The ability to confidently engage with large groups.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and problem-solving mindset.
  • The ability to work independently and manage stress effectively.
  • A strong command of English (French is an asset but not required).
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at either of our Toronto locations – Midtown or Beaches site
  • Availability to work both Saturday and Sunday, as well as at least 1 weekday between the hours of 2pm – 9pm.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum three years of experience working with children or animals.
  • Working towards or having completed a diploma/degree in an animal- or child-related field.
  • Candidates who are still in school should be in their 2nd year + of their post-secondary education.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Successful completion of a vulnerable sector background check.
