Ottawa Veterinary Hospital welcomes an experienced full-time Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT to join our Urgent Care team! With our trained emergency veterinary health care team growing, we are expanding our support team too!
Experience in emergency medicine is highly regarded but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will excel in high-pressure situations and demonstrate exceptional communication and teamwork skills. Our newly designed, state-of-the-art clinic offers Urgent/Emergency care for small companion animals in Ottawa and the surrounding region.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Registered Veterinary Technician with 2+ years experience
- Proven ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Collaborating effectively as part of a cohesive veterinary team
- Executing various treatments and diagnostics as directed
- Surgical preparation, assistance and patient recovery
- Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently
- Ability to problem-solve or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents
- Flexibility to work nights, holidays, and weekends; shift premiums for overnights
Schedules:
- Available for rotation schedules, including evenings and weekend overnights.
- ER services operate 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays; and until midnight the remainder of weekdays
- Full-time, Part-time, casual opportunities
