Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Vaccination Technician to join our Breeder Services Team. The Hatchery Division is at the start of the Live Supply Chain. Our goal is to provide the best quality day-old chicks with unparalleled service to our farmer partners. The breeder service team works with our Hatching Egg Producers and Pullet growers, providing vaccinations and collecting in-field flock samples to ensure the flocks are protected during the rearing stage and production stage of broiler breeders.

This is permanent-full time opportunity which offers potential for growth.

Role purpose:

This position will support the accountability and consistency within the breeder service division. The vaccination technician will support the breeder service team by doing routine vaccinations and sample collections. This will allow the breeder service technicians to maintain the enhanced level of service normally provided on farms.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

Undergraduate degree in biology or agriculture preferred.
Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
Ability to work within a flexible schedule.
Comfortable working with and handling livestock.
Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
Computer proficiency with MS Office.
Valid Ontario Driver’s License Class G.
Self-motivated and organized with a desire to learn.
Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in poultry management is an asset, but not required.
Ability to walk and navigate in the barn environment.
Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the job; including, but not limited to lifting 40-lbs, walking with a full backpack sprayer, climbing stairs with equipment.
Working Conditions & Environment:

On farm: Exposure to dirty, dusty, and loud environments – proper PPE and equipment will be provided.
Transportation: Requires frequent travel to contracted hatching egg producers and their respective pullet growers in Ontario, often in inclement weather. Travel to the office and hatcheries will also be expected.
