We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join us in beautiful Wasaga Beach. We are located in a newly built modern hospital, and we are looking for a candidate that would be excited about working in a start-up clinic, and making a difference in this pet-loving community! We are looking for an RVT that is prepared to mobilize their skills and knowledge, as we will offer a high-standard of medical care, including preventative care, client education, urgent care, surgical and dental procedures. Position for full-time lead RVT, and 2nd position for part-time RVT is an option
Looking for:
Ability to keep a busy appointment schedule on track by collaborating with the team
Actively involved in patient appointments: initiation (collecting history and attaining vital parameters), client education on prevention and wellness, discharge instructions (review prescriptions and follow-up care)
Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
Facilitate processing of in-house laboratory testing on blood and urine
Obtain and prepare cytology samples to perform microscope diagnostics (ear cytology, skin cytology, blood smears)
Practice hands-free digital radiology
Coordinate in-patient surgeries
Perform balanced anesthesia and sedation procedures with continuous patient monitoring
Perform dental prophylaxis including full-mouth digital radiology
Support hospital operations by ordering inventory and managing deliveries
Support our clients by answering and responding to phone calls and reporting normal lab testing results
Comfortable using computer programs, typing and interacting with clients through a messaging service
This role oversees the health and wellness of animals which may require bending, lifting, twisting and cleaning up after animals.
