- You’re not afraid to get messy, know how to handle that ferocious feral cat, and can wrap a surgery pack like nobody can
- You think giving IV fluids, placing urinary catheters, and receiving bloodwork results are highlights of your day
- You’re prepared and understanding that we can see hard things every day, but focus on the incredible lives we impact along the way
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can excel at any challenge thrown your way – multi-tasking? Easy! Prioritizing tasks? You can do it in your sleep. Adapt to change well? Absolutely! Time management skills? You were born with them!

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day:
Our RVTs work as part of a clinical team, and in a scheduled rotation which covers Medical Care RVT and Surgical RVT. A sampling of typical duties:
- Performing daily rounds of all animals to identify any medical or behavioural concerns
- Medication administration, vaccination and microchipping as required
- Assisting the veterinarian on daily medical rounds and administering prescribed treatments
- Wellness examinations of new intakes, basic recheck examinations
- Triage of any emergency or urgent patients to ensure timely medical treatment is provided
- Anesthesia and post-operative care of all surgical patients
- Medical care of any hospitalized patients in clinic, including IV fluids, urinary catheters, CRIs
- In house laboratory work including urinalysis and cytology (blood work and fecal sent off site)
- Working with foster families, animal control, shelter staff and volunteers
- Supporting clinic volunteers in their training and duties, as well as engaging and building relationships with them
- Fostering relationships with colleagues, volunteers, customers, etc.
