King Animal Hospital, a newly constructed privately owned 60,000 sq ft. Equine and Small Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital, located in King City, ON is seeking passionate and experienced Senior Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Anesthesia Department.
As a practitioner, you will be able to provide excellent patient care through the support of leading diagnostics, tools, and practices, and work along-side our multidisciplinary team that will include fellow RVTs, strong ACA support and Board-Certified Surgeons, Critical Care Specialists, Emergency Services Doctors, Neurologists, Internists, Anesthesiologists, Ophthalmologists, Dermatologists, and Cardiologist.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Anesthesia Registered Veterinary involves providing anesthesia support for surgical and diagnostic procedures, monitoring patient vital signs, ensuring anesthesia safety, and assisting in post-operative care.
The Senior Anesthesia Registered Veterinary Technician will also collaborate with the veterinary team to educate clients and staff on anesthesia protocols and post-operative care.
You will utilize your skills to administer sedation and anesthesia for routine and complex cases, supported by our Board-Certified Anesthesiologists.
Responsibilities include:
As the Senior Anesthesia RVT you will provide leadership and guidance to the team
Perform pre-anesthetic patient evaluations.
Work in partnership with the Anesthesiologist to develop individualized sedation/anesthetic protocols based on the patient and procedure.
Ensure adequate analgesia is provided through multi-modal pain management, and via advanced regional anesthetic techniques.
Provide continuous monitoring throughout the anesthetic period.
Assist with recovery and postoperative care.
Maintain anesthetic equipment and supplies.
We will provide training on leading diagnostics and equipment including but not limited to 3.0 T MRI, 128-slice GE CT, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, peripheral nerve stimulator, and more.

Ideally you have a minimum of 4 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician and at least one year in Referral Anesthesia Services.
Qualifications
Registered Veterinary Technician
Strong experience in Anesthesia in a Referral or Emergency Hospital
Interested in and ability to lead and train others.
Knowledge of anesthesia administration and monitoring
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and restrain animals safely
