King Animal Hospital, a newly constructed Equine and Small Animal Specialty Referral and Emergency Hospital, is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Anesthesia Department.
Our hospital is a 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, and will offer specialty referral, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
As a practitioner, you will be able to provide excellent patient care through the support of strong diagnostics, and a multidisciplinary team that will include fellow RVTs, strong ACA support and Board-Certified Surgeons, Critical Care Specialists, Neurologists, Internists, Anesthesiologists, Ophthalmologists, Dermatologists, and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine Specialists.
You will utilize your skills to administer sedation and anesthesia for routine and complex cases, supported by our Anesthesiologist.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing pre-anesthetic patient evaluations, communicating with other departments to discuss transfer of care and scheduling of procedures.
- Working in partnership with the Anesthesiologist to develop individualized sedation/anesthetic protocols based on the patient and procedure.
- Ensuring adequate analgesia is provided through multi-modal pain management, including via advanced regional anesthetic techniques.
- Providing continuous monitoring throughout the anesthetic period.
Assisting with recovery and postoperative care, rounding of patients back to their respective departments or to the ICU. - Maintaining anesthetic equipment and supplies.
- Participating in continuing education opportunities to stay up to date on the latest developments and innovation in anesthesia.
- We will provide training on leading diagnostics and equipment including our 3.0 T MRI, 128-slice GE CT, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, peripheral nerve stimulator, in-house IDEXX lab equipment, and more.

Our Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player, have a passion for animal care and have the desire to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
You must be a registered veterinary technician in good standing with the OAVT. You will ideally have a minimum of 4 years as an RVT, and at least one year in Referral or Emergency Services. We will invest in training for special candidates with less experience so please do apply!
You will be responsible for providing exceptional care to equine or small animal patients, assisting with surgeries and procedures, administering medications, and performing diagnostic tests. You will work alongside a team of board-certified specialists and experienced veterinarians, utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to diagnose and treat complex medical cases.
