King Animal Hospital, a newly constructed Equine and Small Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital, is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team. This position requires experience working with horses and a strong knowledge of equine medicine.
Our hospital is a 55,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, and will offer specialty referral, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
As a practitioner, you will be able to provide excellent patient care through the support of strong diagnostics, and a multidisciplinary team that will include fellow RVTs, strong ACA support and Board-Certified Surgeons, Critical Care Specialists, Neurologists, Internists, Anesthesiologists, Ophthalmologists, Dermatologists, and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine Specialists.
Responsibilities of the Equine RVT include:
Assist DVMs in providing medical care and treatment for equine patients.
Perform routine procedures such as blood draws, IV catheter placements, and administer medications.
Maintain accurate medical records (via EzyVet and VetRadar).
Monitor patients during anesthesia, and assist with surgical procedures.
Handle and restrain horses for various procedures, such as examinations, ultrasounds, radiography.
Maintain equipment, stock inventory of supplies and medications.
Assist with client education and communication.
We will provide training on leading diagnostics and equipment including but not limited to 1.5 T MRI (Siemens) for equine, CT scan with a robotic arm for equine, digital radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy.

The successful candidate will be an excellent team player, have a passion for animal care and have the desire to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
You will ideally have a minimum of four years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician, and at least one year working in an Equine Practice. We will invest in training for special candidates with less experience, so please do apply!
