The Guelph Cat Clinic is a well-known hospital located in the ever-growing city of Guelph. Our clinic caters exclusively to our feline friends and their owners. Guelph Cat Clinic is privately owned and is accredited as a Gold Status Feline Friendly facility with the Feline VMA.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist veterinarians during appointments, including patient intake, examination support, and treatment administration.
-Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.) utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
-Perform x-rays following established protocols and safety guidelines.
-Perform dental procedures in compliance with professional veterinary industry standards, employing an in-depth knowledge of dental structures, conditions and lesions, causes and stages of diseases.
-Prepare for and assist with surgical procedures, including administering anesthesia, anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
-Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
-Manage inventory of surgical supplies and medications.
-Provide exceptional patient care and client communication, ensuring owners are well-informed and comfortable with their pet’s treatment and care plans.
-Nutritional consultations, including calculating daily caloric requirements and developing individualized weight-loss feeding plans.
-Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and surgical techniques.

Qualifications:

-Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification (or in the process of obtaining – new grads welcome!)
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Passion for animal care and a commitment to delivering high-quality veterinary services.

On-site parking

Schedule:

4–5-day work week
8-10 hour shifts
One weekend shift a month (Saturday – 9 am – 2 pm)
