Position Overview: 

Are you an RVT rockstar with a knack for appointments, surgical skills that shine, and a love for learning new things? We’re on the hunt for a passionate and talented RVT to join our awesome team! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love delivering top-notch veterinary care, and enjoy being part of a team that’s all about excellence, we’d love to meet you! *Note: This is a 1 year maternity leave contract*

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist veterinarians during appointments, including patient intake, examination support, and treatment administration.
-Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.) utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
-Perform x-rays following established protocols and safety guidelines.
-Perform dental procedures in compliance with professional veterinary industry standards, employing an in-depth knowledge of dental structures, conditions and lesions, causes and stages of diseases.
-Prepare for and assist with surgical procedures, including administering anesthesia, anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
-Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
-Manage inventory of surgical supplies and medications.
-Provide exceptional patient care and client communication, ensuring owners are well-informed and comfortable with their pet’s treatment and care plans.
-Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and surgical techniques.

Qualifications:

-Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
-Minimum of 1 year of experience in a small animal veterinary setting, with a strong focus on appointments and surgical procedures.
-Strong technical skills, including proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, surgical assisting, and post-operative care.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Passion for animal care and a commitment to delivering high-quality veterinary services.

Schedule:

4 day work week
