Hours: full time or part time locum work available
Job Description:
We are opening a low cost/high volume spay/neuter clinic at the Fort Erie SPCA. Your position will be to work in the position of surgery and anesthesia RVT.
A typical surgery day will be as follows:
7:30a – 8a open clinic and prepare induction cart, surgical suite, admits, etc.
8a – 9a admits for surgeries arrive, exam performed by vet, placed into kennel, meds drawn
9a – 11a feline surgeries completed
11a – 12p lunch break
12p – 4p canine surgeries completed
4p – 5p feline discharges and canine recovery
5p – 6p canine discharges and clinic clean up
6p – 6:30p catch up
Occasionally, if you like, you can help out in other areas of the shelter, duties including:
quarantine care
administering medication
morning and afternoon rounds
light duty cleaning
maintaining records
intake of new animals
bathing animals
booking appointments
assisting kennel staff
micro-chipping
vaccinations
nail trimming
