Small Animal & Exotic Care Practice

Great opportunity to join a fun, supportive, dynamic team caring for companion and exotic pets.  3-4 day work week, no weekends or on call.  We have 2 veterinarians and our hours are Mon-Fri 8am-7pm. We have Idexx in-house lab, digital radiography (including dental radiography), in-house ultrasound and we use Idexx Neo cloud based software.

For our qualifications, we would like someone with experience in a veterinary hospital setting along with the following:

* Excellent customer service skills

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, fluent in English

* Naturally motivated with the desire to learn new skills

* Great organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize

* Punctuality and reliability

* Competent computer skills

* Calm approach during emergencies or other high stress situations

* Strong problem solving abilities

Your Key Responsibilities would be as follows:

* Assisting the veterinarian during client appointments.

* Maintaining medical records

* Surgical preparation and monitoring

* Diagnostic procedures (radiographs, phlebotomy, microscope evaluation, etc.)

* Handling and care of exotic pets

* Oversee medical inventory and report for ordering suppies

* Narcotics & Surgical Log maintenance

* Coaching, training and mentorship for co-op, intern and other student programs

* Assist with reception duties (answering phones, scheduling appointments, customer service, help to maintain front office and exam room flow & efficiency)

* Admit and discharge duties for clients and in-patients
