As a Registered Veterinary Technician at the Aylmer Veterinary Clinic, you will play an integral part in upholding our legacy of excellence in animal care. Your primary responsibility will be to support our team of 4 Veterinarians in delivering top-notch veterinary services to our beloved patients. Your dedication to animal welfare and your genuine passion for making a positive impact in their lives will be highly valued in a nurturing and family-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform in-clinic routine diagnostic lab testing with Idexx and their most recent laboratory equipment.
– Hypodermic techniques, utilizing the full extent of your technical skills. (Blood collection, IV catheters, Ultrasound guided cystocentesis, FNA etc. )
– Apply Fear Free principles of care.
– Commitment to using hand-free radiography techniques.
– Anesthesia monitoring during surgery and dental procedures.
– Maintaining a clean and sterile environment throughout the treatment area, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
– Providing empathetic support and reassurance to our animal patients and their owners, with warmth and professionalism.

Qualifications and Requirements:
– Successfully completed an accredited Veterinary Technician program, certified RVT or working towards passing the VTNE.
– Bilingual.
– Fear Free certification an asset.
– Previous experience in a veterinary setting is advantageous but not mandatory. New graduates are welcome to apply!
– Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds(22 kg) at a time. The position is physically demanding and requires long periods of standing, squatting, and kneeling.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working independently or collaborating effectively with a diverse team.
– Ability to handle animals with patience, confidence, and gentleness, especially in potentially stressful or challenging situations.
