Registered Veterinary Technician {Small Animal Position} in beautiful Caledon

 

Job Description

We’re looking to hire a hard-working RVT to grow our team. The ideal candidate will have a positive personality, a willingness to learn and the ability to work well with our team. Experience preferred but not required.

We offer medical and surgical services to companion animals {dogs and cats}, exotics {rabbits, small pocket pets, birds and reptiles}, small and large ruminants. We offer an extensive array of in-clinic services including (but not limited to); laparoscopic surgery, laser therapy, digital radiography (including dental), ultrasonography and echocardiography. We offer Idexx in-house diagnostic equipment {procyte, catalyst one, SNAP Pro, sedivue}, in-house cytology and much more!

 

Job Requirements

Provide professional and excellent nursing care to our hospitalized and surgical patients on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have exposure to both medicine as well as surgery time;

Medicine;

–  Assist doctors in keeping medical records accurate and up-to-date

–  Assist in and execute diagnostic imaging with knowledge of current and correct techniques

–  Assist doctors on medical procedures using gold standard preparations and techniques

–  Provide compassionate and professional client communication regarding medications, medical rechecks and follow-up lab work

Surgery;

–  Administer and monitor general anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures including but not limited to spays, neuters, mass removals and COHATs {Complete Oral Health Assessment and Treatments}

–  Perform local and regional anesthesia (training will be available)

–  Assist in COHATs including dental radiography, regional anesthesia, charting, scaling and polishing

–  Provide client communication regarding pre-operative instructions, discharge information as well as follow-up surgery calls
