We are seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our busy and progressive small animal clinic in Scarborough as of April/May. Our clinic currently has three veterinarians, and we pride ourselves on providing high-quality patient care in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Our RVTs are highly valued members of the team and are encouraged to work to the full scope of their training. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team.

Our clinic is equipped with IDEXX hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis analyzers, digital radiography, surgical monitors, handheld ultrasonography and a dental suite with xray. We also aim to maintain a paper-light workflow while using Cornerstone software.

You will be joining our supportive RVT team and rotating between morning and afternoon shifts, with a primary focus on afternoon hours. This position also requires coverage every second Saturday (8-2 pm) which is offset with one weekday off every 2 weeks.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

●      Performing sample collection and in-house laboratory testing, cytology

●      Digital radiography

●      Dentistry and dental radiographs

●      Preparing animals for procedures, monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgery

●      Assisting with ultrasonography

●      Assisting with appointments and patient care

●      Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision of the veterinarian

●      Client communication and education

Our practice primarily sees dogs and cats, and we do not hospitalize patients overnight or on weekends, supporting a healthy work-life balance for our team.

Our ideal candidate will have:

●      A Veterinary Technician Diploma with Registration status or plans to become registered (new graduates welcome)

●      Compassion for both patients and their owners, and a genuine passion for veterinary medicine

●      Solid computer skills (Cornerstone experience is an asset, but easy to learn)

●      Excellent organizational and time-management skills

●      The ability to safely lift up to 20 kg

●      A positive attitude, strong communication skills, dependable work ethic, and a collaborative team spirit
