Blue Cross Animal Hospital is an independently owned and operated small animal clinic, conveniently located in Hamilton’s downtown neighbourhood, easily accessed from the 403 and Hwy. 6. Blue Cross boasts a rich history as being the oldest stand-alone veterinary clinics in Canada. Because of our long-standing roots in the community and a reputation for compassionate care, we have maintained, and continually expanded upon a well-established client base.

A complete renovation has given a modern look to this historic building. Along with up-to-date equipment including full body digital x-ray, in-house IDEXX lab equipment, a dedicated dental suite with digital x-ray, ultrasound, paperless record-keeping (AVImark) and direct text-to-client options (Vitus Vet) we provide the necessary tools for comprehensive patient care.

Blue Cross is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our professional and experienced team of veterinarians, RVTs, veterinary assistants, and client care representatives, all of whom contribute to our friendly and positive work culture. Duties for this position would include, but are not limited to, surgical and dental anesthesia, laboratory testing, prescription filling, full body and dental imaging, client appointments and education as well as other technical procedures.

You will be supported in fulfilling your role through collaboration with fellow team-members, open communication channels with co-workers and management alike, and the opportunity to use your full skill set while developing your areas of personal expertise. Being privately operated with direct owner involvement allows us to help you to cultivate and implement new practices of your interest that align with Blue Cross’ operating standards and commitment to progressive veterinary medicine.
