Alta Vista Animal Hospital is welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our established General Practice team.

You’ve worked hard to earn your credential, and we want you to utilize the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

  • Please note: we offer coaching and training on the following skills for new graduates who need a little more experience 🙂
  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter placement
  • Radiology
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Physical examinations, patient assessment and triage
  • Surgical preparation, monitoring, recovery and assisting
  • Laboratory work
  • Pharmacy
  • Client Education
  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Veterinary Technician program
  • New Graduates welcomed!
  • Experienced RVT’s welcome!
  • RVT’s looking for a change and who want to learn!
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing and oral), bilingualism is considered an asset
  • Able to support up to 50mg and lift up to 25kg
  • Stellar client service skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks / projects at once
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to organize, take initiative, work independently, exercise good judgment
  • Decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with professionalism and integrity
  • A positive attitude and use of courtesy, diplomacy and discretion to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality
