Radiation Safety/Hands-Free X-Ray

In this session participants will learn how to accomplish radiology hands-free positioning for all anatomy of the small animal patient.  Participants will learn how to use mechanical restraint, or a combination of mechanical/chemical restraint, to achieve a diagnostic quality small animal radiology study.  A combination of trough, sandbags, wedges and tape can help you accomplish a hands-free study.

A discussion of best radiation safety practices for all staff and best safety practices for the patient will be included.

This course is designed for clinicians, practice managers, RVTs, and any team members involved in taking radiographs.

Who Should attend this course:   RVTs and clinicians with a desire to learn how to use hands-free principles techniques in their clinic.  Hands-Free Starter Kits will be available for purchase at the end of the workshop.
