At Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH), we welcome Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our expanding team in Scarborough, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technologist to work alongside a collaborative team to provide high-quality small-animal patient care.

 

What You Will Do

  • Critical In-Patient Care: Manage and monitor hospitalized emergency cases (e.g., blocked cats, foreign bodies, GDV, trauma), including administering medications and monitoring IV fluid/CRI therapy.
  • Advanced Technical Skills: Build your confidence with placing and maintaining IV and urinary catheters, feeding tubes, chest tubes, wound drains, and nasal oxygen cannulas.
  • Anesthesia & Surgical Support: Assist with patient stabilization, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery for emergency surgical procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with emergency veterinarians, specialists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.

 

What You Bring:

  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
  • Strong interest or background in emergency and critical care.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care.
  • Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Our ER Technicians work a rotation of 4 on, 5 off with two 12-hour day shifts followed by two 12-hour night shifts. This includes weekends and holidays.
