Job description:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our veterinary team as soon as possible. The RVT will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, patient care, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory testing, and client education while ensuring a high standard of animal welfare and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and fecal tests
- Perform diagnostic imaging such as radiographs
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
- Educate pet owners on preventative care, medications, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
- Prepare and maintain surgical and examination areas
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic
- Support inventory management and stocking of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician certification/licensure in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician program
- Strong knowledge of animal health care, anesthesia, and laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate approach to animal care and client service
- Experience with veterinary software and electronic medical records is an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working around animals, medical equipment, and cleaning chemicals
