Medication administration/blood collection from race horses

Racing Forensics is hiring Registered Veterinary Technicians for equine venipuncture at various racetrack on Ontario for the 2025 season.

Fort Erie Race Track

Shifts on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from May 27 – October 21. Shifts start at 7:30 am and 11:00 am on Sundays and 11:45am and 3:30 pm on Mondays and Tuesday. Post times change later in the season.

Georgian Downs

Shifts on Saturdays and Tuesdays start at 2:45pm and 6:45pm, while Sunday shifts start at 1:30pm and 5:30pm.

Hanover Raceway

Shifts are on Saturdays and start at 12:30 pm.

Kawartha Downs

Shifts are on Saturdays and start at 2:30 pm.

Woodbine Race Track

Shifts on Thursdays start at 12:15 while shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays start at 8:30 am and 12:10pm.

Training will be provided. Excellent compensation.

Duties

·         Collect blood samples from horses and/or administer IV medication

·         Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

·         Ensure chain-of-custody of samples

·         Complete official documentation and records

Skills/Experience

  • Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Experience working with horses
  • Equine phlebotomy an asset
  • Proficient in phlebotomy
    ·         Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
