Registered Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join the team of a recently opened, privately and independently owned Veterinary clinic in the heart of the picturesque town of Port Perry. The ideal candidate will assist in providing excellent veterinary care to our animal patients and support to our veterinary staff. Since opening in July of 2024, our clinic has experienced significant client and staff growth. We provide excellent patient care, with an extremely high level of medicine. We are passionate about work-life harmony and employee wellness. Salary will be based on skills and experience. This is a full time position, with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures
– Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
– Administer medications and vaccines under supervision
– Take and develop diagnostic imaging, including x-rays
– Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
– Handle and restrain animals during procedures
– Educate clients on proper animal care and medication administration

Qualifications-

-Valid Registered Veterinary Technician license required

-Minimum 6 months experience as an RVT in an Animal Hospital setting

-Fear free certification

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 42 per week
