King Animal Hospital, a newly constructed Equine and Small Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital, is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Small Animal Emergency Department or Critical Care ICU.
Our hospital is a 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, and offers specialty referral, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
- Currently, our team is 175 people strong.
- We are focused on wellness and have an in-house Social Worker to help you with one- on- one coaching completely free!
- Where possible we will try to accommodate you within the schedule but everyone will need to rotate through days and night shifts.

- The shifts are 2 days/2 nights on and 5 days off.
Responsibilities
As a practitioner, reporting to the ER Supervisor you will be able to provide excellent patient care through the support of a multi-disciplinary team including three Criticalists, ER DVMS, experienced RVTs and ACAs, and specialty doctors including Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Anesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatologists, Ophthalmologist and, Rehabilitation.
Responsibilities include:
- Triaging incoming emergencies, assigning triage status based on vitals, presenting complaints, and patient history.
- Obtaining histories from pet owners and relaying this to the ER DVM.
Providing exceptional nursing care and support to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments. - Administering and monitoring anesthesia for after-hours ER surgeries.
- Obtaining and processing samples using in-house diagnostic lab equipment.
- Preparing and maintaining detailed medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and diagnostic results, using EzyVet and VetRadar.
- Communicating with pet owners to provide updates on their pet’s condition.
- Participating in continuing education and professional development to stay up to date on the latest innovations and developments in emergency and critical care.
- This position requires coverage for a variety of shifts including daytime, overnights, swing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- We will provide training on leading diagnostics and equipment including our 3.0 T MRI, 128-slice GE CT, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, ventilators, telemetry, in-house IDEXX lab equipment, and more.
