The OAVT 2022 Conference is looking for volunteer session moderators. OAVT members in good standing are eligible to apply. All virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom. Volunteers must be comfortable and familliar with hosting online meeings and the functions available.
A Virtual Session Moderator will be responsible for:
- Providing the introductions at the start of the session (could include speaker and sponsors)
- Hosting the Question & Answer portion of the end of the session
- Escalating any concerns throughout the session
All sessions will be supported by technical staff and volunteers will have a clear path for escalations.
Availability: Volunteers must be available for a variety of days and times.
Technical Requirements: All volunteers must supply their own computer or laptop, webcam and headset. Use of a device's built-in microphone is not permitted. Mobile phones are not acceptable as the moderating capabilities are not sufficient.
Training: Volunteer training will be hosted during January and February. There may be more than one training session to ensure all volunteers are comfortable with their role.
Remuneration: For every 3 sessions that a volunteer moderates, they will receive a $25 discount to apply to their OAVT 2021 Conference pass.
Registration: Please do not register for the OAVT 2022 Conference until you have received notice about your volunteer involvement. Once volunteers have been selected and their schedule has been confirmed, the OAVT will distribute promo codes to be used during registration.
Volunteer selections will be completed by January 3, 2022.
