Privately owned small animal practice in Kingston

Seeking an outgoing, energetic Registered Veterinary Technician.  The applicant must be able to work well as part of a team, individually, and with clients.  We are a busy small animal practice offering an array of services, looking to add to our small, dedicated team.  Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 50 lbs. and restrain dogs and cats.  RVTs in our clinic have a wide variety of duties, including but not limited to:

·         Performing initial physical examinations

·         Obtaining and running blood samples in clinic and preparing samples to be sent to our reference lab

·         Obtaining and running urine samples

·         Placing IV catheters and caring for hospitalized animals

·         Drug dose calculations

·         Prepping, monitoring and recovering surgical patients

·         Digital radiology

·         Assisting other staff and veterinarians with patient care

·         Keeping up to date medical records using Cornerstone practice management software.

Client education (discharging patients, reception duties).
