Celebrate Registered Veterinary Technicians Throughout October
Theme: Under the Microscope: Upping Your Clinical Pathology Game
CE Webinars:
More and more clinics are opting to do lab testing in house. This means RVTs will need to brush up on their clinical pathology skills. The OAVT is hosting free* webinars in October in celebration of RVT Month, all focused on clinical pathology. Each webinar will feature Barbie Papajeski, MS, LVT, RLATG, VTS (Clinical Pathology). Papajeski teaches clinical pathology and laboratory animal courses in the veterinary technology program at Murray State University where she has been employed for 30 years.
The webinars are eligible for CE credits. Join us during the first four Wednesdays in October to learn more about the fascinating microscopic world. The webinars will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
*The fee for non-members is $10 per session
How do I get it? Obtaining Samples for Laboratory Testing
When: October 1, 7 p.m.
What are those cells & structures? A microscopic look at cytology and hematology samples
When: October 8, 7 p.m.
Demystifying Blood & Urine Chemistry Tests
When: October 15, 7 p.m.
Totally Grossed Out or Fascinated: Parasitology for the Registered Veterinary Technician
When: October 22, 7 p.m.
Secret Test Taking Strategies
When: October 29, 7 p.m.

We are looking for images of RVTs in action! That could include blood draws, performing ultrasounds or X-rays, tube feedings, or anything else you do throughout your day. Candid photos are best! Just be sure you have permission from the clinic owner/manager and any clients or coworkers who may be in the photo.
