OAVT CE Policy Review Committee 2024

November 14, 2023

The OAVT is looking for volunteers to work with the CE Manager in reviewing the CE Policy. This document was last assessed in 2019, and the Association has committed to doing so every five years. It is essential to the membership that the Policy encourages pursuit of personal interests within the field of veterinary technology and nursing, while maintaining a standard of professionalism that answers our commitment to public health and safety, and the best possible animal care.

Participation in the committee will include review of and comment on the current CE Policy, with a view to recognizing changes and trends in our industry, and determining if and where the Policy should be updated.

Ideally, the CE Policy Review Committee will represent the wide range in experience of our membership, and RVTs from a number of areas in the profession. Between five and seven RVTs will be selected from applicants.

To indicate your interest, please send an e-mail to Laurie Williams, CE & One Health Manager, at laurie@oavt.org. In the e-mail, kindly include:

  • Area of employment (ex., in clinic, education, industry representative)
  • Experience in other animal care related committees or volunteer work

Please note that only RVTs in good standing will be considered for this committee. If the
Association receives applications from two or more RVTs working in the same place of employment, only one will be chosen. Two Category 2 CE credits will be given for participation.

The deadline for application to the CE Policy Review Committee is December 15th, 2023. RVTs selected will be advised of a schedule for the process, which will take place during January 2024.
