Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, is the largest Veterinary Supplier in Ontario and is currently looking to add a dynamic individual within our Regulatory Compliance Department for the position of:
Registered Veterinary Technician
This is a 12-month contract position reporting to the Quality Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing, dispensing, and record keeping of orders containing Medically Important Antimicrobial (MIA), Biologics, and other prescription drug products that are being shipped directly to a Farmed and Large Animal (FLA) location. Moreover, the position will also include many functions involved within the Regulatory Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review documentation, including, scripts and orders, that request prescription drug products to be shipped to a FLA
- Verify completeness of documentation and compliance with the CVO regulations
- Produce prescription labels for orders
- Pick and pack prescription drug products
- Maintain and complete medical and dispensing records
- Assist with documentation and investigation of deviations or complaints related to processing orders and dispensing of prescription drug products to FLA locations
- Maintain current RVT status
- Understand and follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as required
- Assist with other regulated drug order processes, as required
- Assist with warehouse worker duties, as required
- Use of computers for a variety of activities
- Other duties as assigned

- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures - Report any health & safety violations or hazards to your Supervisor
Good manufacturing practices:
- Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices
Skills and knowledge required:
- Qualified Registered Veterinary Technician Accreditation
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and time management skills
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm
