Registered Veterinary Technician – Internal Medicine

The ROLE: Registered Veterinary Technician – Internal Medicine

Duties and Responsibilities:
Venipuncture and other technical procedures such as radiographs
Placing and maintaining NG tubes
Making sure referral forms, x-rays and reports are received for each new patient before the consultation
Assisting in making appointments in Internal Medicine (new and follow up) as well as coordinating with other services if needed (e.g. internal medicine, surgery, etc.)
Monitoring of the patients during procedures under sedation or anesthesia
Ordering laboratory tests
Making sure the medical record is up to date vs. procedures, communication with clients and referring veterinarians, etc.
Helping the veterinary assistant making sure that all is clean and in order at the end of the day
Making follow up phone calls for the internist and answering some of the questions from clients in person, by email or by phone
What you will need to succeed:
· A 2-year Veterinary Technician diploma (Mandatory)
· Registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians
· 4 years Experience
· Experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine
· Resilience and adaptability to deal with emotional and demanding clients, with the primary focus of nurturing relationships, managing conflict, driving service solutions and client retention in the veterinary services we provide
· Exceptional client service skills, both verbal and written

Languages:
· Bilingual in French and English (Preferred), all candidates will be considered.
Salary/Rate:
· $25.30-32.25/hr + Signing Bonus
