King Animal Hospital, a newly constructed Equine and Small Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital, is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Ophthalmology, Oncology & Surgery/Anesthesia Departments.

Our hospital is a 55,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, and will offer specialty referral, rehabilitation, and emergency services.

As a Referral RVT, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing the examination room and equipment for appointments.
Assisting the DVM during patient exams, restraining patients, administering medications.
Performing diagnostic tests
Assisting with surgical procedures
Performing Anesthesia for various procedures/surgeries.
Maintaining patient records (via EzyVet and VetRadar).
Communicating with clients about their pet’s condition and treatment plan.
Providing post-operative care and follow-up instructions to clients.
Participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay up to date with new techniques and treatments in veterinary medicine.
You will be able to provide excellent patient care through the support of strong diagnostics, and a multidisciplinary team that will include fellow RVTs, strong ACA support and Board-Certified Surgeons, Critical Care Specialists, Neurologists, Internists, Anesthesiologists, Dermatologists, and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine Specialists.

Our notable diagnostics and equipment include a 1.5 T MRI (Siemens) for equine, 3.0 T MRI for small animals, CT scan for small animals, CT scan with a robotic arm for equine, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and a hyperbaric chamber.

You will ideally have a minimum of 4 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician and at least one year in referral, ideally in Ophthalmology or Oncology. We will invest in training for special candidates with less experience so please do apply!
